Machu Picchu Panorama
Written by Colby Brown
Machu Picchu is certainly one of those iconic locations that you have to explore if you are ever in Peru. While it is certainly touristy, it is still worth your time. The sheer magnitude of this amazing mountain city is something that you have to see and experience for your self. I managed to secure two days of shooting in Machu Picchu for my photography workshop clients with The Giving Lens. While the 2nd day offered perfectly clear skies, we were greeted with some amazing low laying cloud cover for our first morning. Watching the clouds roll in over the mountains and engulf the city was something I will never forget.
The Giving Lens is an organization I founded that aims to blend photo education focused workshops/tours with supporting sustainable development initiatives in developing countries around the globe. Every trip has a cause we seek to champion such as child education, clean drinking water projects, women’s rights, species preservation and much more. In 2012 we are offering workshops in Peru, Nicaragua, Tanzania, Jordan and Israel/Palestine. In 2013 we are expanding into Panama, India, Uganda, Bolivia and Madagascar. For more information check out the website for The Giving Lens.
